Indomina Releasing is continuing its venture into the horror film market with their recent acquisition of Colm McCarthy’s Scottish film “Outcast” for North American distribution. This announcement comes a day after the new distribution company revealed their plans to release “The Pack,” a French horror film that was part of this year’s Cannes Film Festival, in North America. “Outcast” had a significant presence in this year’s festival scene, including screenings at SXSW and the horror niche festival, Screamfest LA.

“Outcast” delves into the underworld of black magic and witchcraft in modern day Edinburgh. The film tells the story of Mary (Kate Dickie), a witch from an ancient Celtic society, who is on the run from a hunter (James Nesbitt) dedicated to killing her and her son in order to bury secrets from the past.

“‘Outcast’ brings another dimension to the Indomina brand, demonstrating once again that Indomina is the premiere destination for genre based content,” commented Jasbinder Singh Mann, C.E.O. of Indomina Group.

Stephen Kelliher, the Head of Sales and Marketing at Bankside Films, who negotiated the deal on behalf of the filmmakers, echoed Singh Mann’s enthusiasm.

“We are delighted that Indomina Releasing will be handling ‘Outcast’ in North America. They are a new and exciting company with lost of ambition, and we have been impressed by their passion, enthusiasm and clear understanding of the business. We look forward to ‘Outcast’ being part of their future success.”
